Ejja Imxi Miegħi: an event by Missio Malta

Missio Malta is holding the first edition of Ejja Imxi Miegħi, aimed at raising awareness about the immense distances people in developing countries walk each day to obtain potable water. The initiative which is set to run between the 19th and 25th July at Pjazza Tritoni in Valletta, will make use of virtual reality technology and treadmills, to help participants experience an illusion of walking long distances in Africa.

“Through this event, we are inviting members of the public to join us on our stand at Triton Square in Valletta, to challenge themselves and walk a mile in the shoes of thousands of people in developing countries who go through immense hardship to obtain drinking water every day,” says Robert Farrugia, Head of Communications and Fund Raising at Missio Malta… Read more »

Mass on the feast of Our Lady of Mt Carmel

  Mt Carmel Hospital, Attard

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Omm ta’ Ġesù, ħu ħsiebi int, kun ommi tul is-snin”. Dan hu l-kliem li għadna kif kantajna fl-innu tad-dħul għall-quddiesa, u hu l-kliem li jfisser b’mod sabiħ ħafna l-festa li qed niċċelebraw illum tal-Madonna tal-Karmnu, patruna ta’ dan il-post.

Rigal kbir fil-mument tal-akbar tbatija

Għadna kif rajna fl-Evanġelju skont San Ġwann, lil Ġesù fuq is-salib, fl-aktar mumenti diffiċli ta’ tbatija għall-ħajja tiegħu… Read more »

A choice without compromises – Bishop Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Taħsbux li jiena ġejt inġib il-paċi fuq l-art” (Mt 10:34). Dan huwa li jgħid Ġesù llum fl-Evanġelju skont San Mattew, lill-appostli tiegħu, u kif nisimgħu dil-kelma żgur li ninħasdu. Dan mhuwiex Ġesù li dejjem nassoċjawh mal-paċi, sa minn meta twieled? Niftakru l-anġli jħabbru lir-rgħajja: “Paċi fl-art lill-bnedmin li jogħġbu lilu” (Lq 2:14) – li jogħġbu lil Alla. Ġesù nnifsu fil-Beatitudnijiet, kien qal: “Ħenjin dawk li jġibu l-paċi, għax huma jissejħu wlied Alla” (Mt 5:9)… Read more »

The Lord, who is just and merciful, knows our heart – The Archbishop

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Dan l-Evanġejlu qawwi mill-kapitlu 11 ta’ San Mattew jikkonfrontana bir-responsabbiltà li għandna. Il-Mulej juri ħniena magħna. Ġesù jgħid: “Il-ħafna mirakli li kien għamel fihom” (Mt 11:20). Jitkellem dwar l-indiema, jitkellem dwar il-predikazzjoni tiegħu “kieku l-mirakli li saru fikom” (Mt 11:21).

Aħna midħla ta’ Ġesù; aħna nafu ħafna bil-qawwa tiegħu u din il-ħaġa hi privileġġ u hi faraġ imma wkoll hi responsabbiltà… Read more »
