A word that comes to pass – Bishop Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Hemm seba’ darbiet, tista’ tgħid, fl-Evanġelju ta’ San Ġwann, meta Ġesù jagħmel dak li normalment insejħulu ‘miraklu’. Imma f’San Ġwann jissejjaħ “sinjal”. Hawn, fis-silta li għadna kemm smajna, hu t-tieni sinjal li għamel Ġesù wara dak li kien għamel f’Kana tal-Galilija, meta biddel l-ilma fi nbid.

X’inhuma dawn is-sinjali? Għaliex jissejħu ‘sinjali’? X’juruna? Huma sinjali li juruna li Ġesù hu l-Messija, l-Iben ta’ Alla… Read more »

Pope at Angelus: Jesus is light that opens us to God’s love

Dear brothers and sisters, buongiorno!

On this fourth Sunday of Lent, the Eucharistic liturgy begins with this invitation: “Rejoice, Jerusalem…”. (see Is 66:10). What is the reason for this joy? In the middle of Lent, what is the reason for this joy? Today’s Gospel tells us: God “so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16)… Read more »

Posted by Parroċċa Balzan – Balzan Parish on Sunday, March 14, 2021 L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Hemm sentenza fl-Evanġelju ta’ San Ġwann illum li baqgħet tissemma ħafna, u bir-raġun, għaliex tiġbor fiha l-iktar ħaġa essenzjali tal-Aħbar it-Tajba. Ġesù jgħid lil Nikodemu: “Alla hekk ħabb lid-dinja li ta lil ibnu l-waħdieni biex kull min jemmen fih ma jintilifx imma jkollu l-ħajja ta’ dejjem.” U jkompli jispjega… Read more »

“Let us be a society that is not afraid of the light of Jesus” – The Archbishop

Mass on the Fourth Sunday of Lent

  San Blas Therapeutic Community

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Meta Ġesù ried iħabbar il-missjoni tiegħu uża kelma għażiża: il-kelma ‘evanġelju’. Xi tfisser din il-kelma? Din il-kelma ġejja mill-Grieg u tfisser ‘aħbar tajba’. L-Evanġelju tal-lum, aħna u nibdew it-tieni parti tal-mixja tagħna tar-Randan, jagħtina din l-aħbar tajba u sabiħa li twassalna biex niċċelebraw il-misteru kbir tal-Għid. Alla ħabb lid-dinja. “Alla hekk ħabb lid-dinja li ta lil Ibnu l-waħdieni biex kull min jemmen fih ma jintilifx, imma jkollu l-ħajja ta’ dejjem” (Ġw 3:16)… Read more »
