During Lent let us forgive one another and ask for forgiveness from the heart – The Archbishop

Mass for the memorial of St Polycarp

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Għadna kemm smajna t-talba tant għaziża li aħna nsejħulha t-talba li għallimna Ġesù, it-talba li tgħallimna nħarsu lejn il-Missier bħala l-Missier ta’ kull wieħed u waħda minna. Ġesù m’għallimniex ngħidu ‘Missieri, li inti fis-smewwiet’ imma għallimna ngħidu “Missierna li inti fis-smewwiet”.

Tifhmu wkoll li t-talba li ngħidu ħierġa mill-Evanġelju skont San Mattew. Għandna verżjoni oħra tat-talba tal-Mulej li nsibuha fl-Evanġelju skont San Luqa imma t-talba li aħna ngħidu fil-quddiesa u meta nitolbu, b’mod speċjali anke meta nitolbu r-rużarju, hi meħuda mill-kapitlu 6 tal-Evanġelju ta’ San Mattew… Read more »

Built on this rock – Bishop Galea-Curmi

Mass on the feast of the Chair of St Peter

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Minn fost l-appostli kollha li Ġesù bagħat biex ixandru l-Bxara t-Tajba, għażel lil Pietru biex ikun dak li jmexxi l-Knisja taħt il-mexxej il-kbir, li hu Kristu nnifsu. Il-Papa San Ljun il-Kbir, hu u jirrifletti fuq ir-rakkont li għadna kemm smajna fl-Evanġelju, jgħid: “Kemm hu kbir u tal-għaġeb is-sehem li Kristu għoġbu jagħti lil dan ir-raġel mis-setgħa tiegħu stess!”

Rajna lil Ġesù jistaqsi lill-Appostli dwar in-nies min jgħidu li hu… Read more »

Pope Francis: With faith, prayer and penance we overcome evil

Dear brothers and sisters, buongiorno!

Last Wednesday, with the penitential rite of the ashes, we began our Lenten journey. Today, the first Sunday of this liturgical season, the Word of God shows us the path to living fruitfully the forty days that lead to the annual celebration of Easter. It is the way Jesus trod, which the Gospel, with Mark’s essential style, summarises by saying that before He began His preaching, He withdrew into the desert for forty days, where He was tempted by Satan (see 1:12-15)… Read more »
