Love in practice – Bishop Galea-Curmi

Mass on the Sixth Sunday of Easter

Annunciation of Our Lady Parish Church, Ħal Balzan

L-omelija tal-Isqof Awżiljarju Joseph Galea-Curmi

Forsi jidher ovvju l-kliem li jgħid Ġesù u li jenfasizza b’mod speċjali fl-Evanġelju tal-lum. Fil-bidu u fl-aħħar jgħid l-istess ħaġa għal darbtejn. Fil-bidu: “Jekk tħobbuni, ħarsu l-kmandamenti tiegħi.” U fl-aħħar jgħid: “Min għandu l-kmandamenti tiegħi u jħarishom, dak hu li jħobbni.”

Forsi ngħidu: mhux ovvju dan? Mhux ovvju li jekk inti tħobb lil Ġesù tfittex li tħares il-kmandamenti tiegħu u l-kelma tiegħu, kif jgħid anke aktar ’il quddiem fl-istess diskors? … Read more »

Mass on the Sixth Sunday of Easter in memory of the first apostolic journey of Pope St John Paul II in Malta

The Shrine of Our Lady of Mellieħa

Homily by Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna

One of the first images I would like to share with you today, inspired by this beautiful reading from Chapter 14 of the Gospel of John, is that of a lover. Jesus loves his Church but loves each and every one of us. He talks about keeping his commandments but he grounds what he says and what he expects from each one of us on love, not fear but love… Read more »

Welcoming, protecting, promoting and integrating internally displaced persons

St John Lateran, Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Fatima, Rome
