Archbishop to institute two seminarians as acolytes

On Friday, 30th November 2012 at 6 p.m. Archbishop Paul Cremona will preside over a celebration at Rabat parish church, during which he will be instituting two seminarians as acolytes.

The two seminarians, who are currently in their sixth year of formation, are: Luke Cutajar from St.Paul’s Parish, Rabat and Brian Gialanzè from Saint Peter in Chains, Birzebbuga.

The institution as acolytes marks another important step in the seminarians’ formation for priesthood… Read more »

The Caritas Malta Art Exhibition 2012

The Prime Minister, the Hon. Lawrence Gonzi, inaugurated an Art Exhibition in aid of Caritas At Auberge de Castille, Valletta. The Caritas Malta Art Exhibition 2012 will be open for public viewing at the Auberge de Castille from the 28th November to 1st December 2012.

Leading Maltese and visiting artists will be exhibiting paintings which are being sold, making a contribution towards the services offered by Caritas Malta at no charge to people in need… Read more »

Spain’s bishops urge united front against same-sex marriage

Spain’s Catholic bishops urged political parties to unite against same-sex marriage, after it was confirmed as legal by the Constitutional Court. “Spanish legislation on marriage is gravely unjust — it does not protect the parties’ right to be recognized in law as husband and wife, nor the right of children and young people to be brought up as future husbands and wives, and to enjoy a father and mother in a stable family,” the bishops’ conference said after its Nov… Read more »

Cardinal O’Brien visits Holy Land with message of solidarity, peace

On the eve of his first trip to the Holy Land as grand master of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher, Cardinal Edwin F. O’Brien said he hoped to encourage the region’s Christian minority with a message of solidarity from Pope Benedict XVI and other Catholics in the West.
