SEMINAR FOR NEW TEACHERS AND LSA’S IN CHURCH SCHOOLS

Is-Segretarjat għall-Edukazzjoni tal-Knisja f’Malta organiżża seminar ta’ jumejn għall-għalliema u l-learning support assistants(LSAs) li ser jibdew l-impjieg tagħhom fl-iskejjel tal-Knisja matul is-sena skolastika li tibda fil-jiem li ġejjin.

Aktar minn 120 parteċipant minn 30 skola differenti attendew għal dan is-seminar li ntemm llum, it-Tlieta 20 ta’ Settembru 2011, u li sar fil-Kurja tal-Arċisqof, l-Furjana. OPENING OF THE PASTORAL YEAR OF THE CANA MOVEMENT

On Monday 19th September, 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. attended the inauguration of the Pastoral Year of the Cana Movement at the Attard Pastoral Centre.

Addressing the general assembly, the President of the Cana Movement, Dr Anna Vella, referred to the principal mission of the Movement: that of engaged and married couples. POPE CALLS FAMILIES TO NEW EVANGELIZATION

Pope in Castel-Gandolfo

Families who are living for Christ are among the protagonists in the Church’s mission to bring about a new evangelization, says Benedict XVI.

The Pope affirmed this today before praying the midday Angelus with crowds gathered at the papal summer residence in Castel Gandolfo.

Reflecting on the passage from Philippians in today’s liturgy, the Holy Father noted how the letter was written around the year 50 A.D., and therein was already a complete synthesis of the mystery of Christ: “incarnation, ‘kenosis,’ that is, humiliation unto death on the cross, and glorification.”

“This mystery itself became one with the life of the Apostle Paul, who wrote this letter while he was in prison, awaiting a sentence of life or death,” the Holy Father explained… Read more »

NEW PARISH PRIEST FOR MSIDA AND DINGLI PARISHES

Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. has appointed Fr Norman Zammit as the new parish priest of Imsida and Fr Ewkarist Zammit as the new parish priest of Dingli.

Fr Zammit was born on 3rd August 1973. He received his education at Zurrieq Primary School, at St Michael’s Secondary School and Mount Carmel College, both in Santa Venera. He continued his tertiary education within the Faculty of Theology at the University of Malta… Read more »

Matul is-sena li għaddiet, il-Knisja f’Malta kienet tħaddem magħha madwar 1,125 persuna, bi spiża f’pagi ta’ kważi €13-il miljun. Dawn barra l-2,246 impjegat ieħor, fosthom għalliema u ħaddiema klerikali, li jaħdmu fl-iskejjel tagħha. Irid jingħad li l-biċċa l-kbira tal-għalliema jirċievu s-salarju tagħhom mill-Istat, skont il-ftehim li kien sar bejn l-Istat Malti u s-Santa Sede f’Novembru 1991.
