POPE TO ITALIAN CARITAS: BE A SIGN OF CHRIST’S CHARITY

This morning in the Vatican, Benedict XVI received participants in a meeting organised by Italian Caritas to celebrate its fortieth anniversary. EMIGRANTS COMMISSION OFFERS MORE HELP TO REFUGEES

It-Taqsima Refuġjati tal-Kummissjoni Emigranti tifhem id-diffikultà li wħud mir-refuġjati li hawn Malta jsibu biex iħallsu s-somma ta’ 58 Ewro biex japplikaw għall-permess tax-xogħol. NEW ARCHPRIEST FOR MOSTA PARISH

Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. has appointed Fr Albert Buhagiar as the new archpriest of Mosta.

Fr Albert Buhagiar was born in Tarxien on 19th August, 1964. He received his education at Paola Primary School, the Carmelite College in Santa Venera, and De La Salle College in Cottonera. He continued his tertiary education in Philosophy and Theology at the University of Malta… Read more »

ARCHBISHOP ADDRESSES YOUNG PEOPLE

On Sunday 27th November 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. will deliver his annual letter to young people during a prayer session in Maria Bambina Chapel, Żabbar. The letter is expected to approach the notion of joy, drawing from the theme for young christians this year: “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Phil 4,4).

THE ARCHBISHOP MEETS THERAPISTS

On Tuesday, 22nd November 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. met with a number of therapists (physiotherapists, speech therapists u occupational therapists). The meeting was held at the Seminary, Tal-Virtu’. This was one of a series of meetings organized by the Secretariat for the Laity of the Church in Malta, during which the Archbishop is listening to professionals from different sectors about whether or not the Catholic Faith is of any help in their profession and if it makes any difference to their vocational work… Read more »

HUMAN LIFE AND DIGNITY MUST ALWAYS BE DEFENDED

In the Holy See Press Office the presentation took place of the twenty-sixth international conference organised by the Pontifical Council for Health Pastoral Care. The conference will have as its theme: “Health Pastoral Care, Serving Life in the Light of the Magisterium of Blessed John Paul II”, and is due to be held in the Vatican from 24 to 26 November.

During this morning’s presentation, Archbishop Zygmunt Zimowski, president of the Pontifical Council for Health Pastoral Care, noted that the conference aims to ensure that “Blessed John Paul II’s teaching on the Gospel of Life, and the translation of that teaching into pastoral activity by the Church, call pastoral care operatives, healthcare workers and all men and women of good will to love and serve life, especially when it is weak and suffering”… Read more »

GRAND BOOK FAIR AT THE SEMINARY

The Seminary is organising a Grand Book Fair from Friday 25th November to Sunday 27th November, 2011. The fair will offer a varied range of books from English and Italian to Literature, Fiction, History, Philosophy, Theology, Melitensia and more. A coffee/cake shop will also be available during the opening hours. All proceeds go towards the Seminary.

Friday 25th November: 15:00 till 20:00;
Saturday 26th November: 09:00 till 20:00
