THE COURAGE TO RENEW ONESELF – ADVENT 2011

Brothers and sisters,

We bring you this letter on the first Sunday of Advent – the time which leads us to Christmas. From the human point of view, Christmas is the story of two persons – Mary and Joseph – and how they altered their lives for Jesus to enter into. Both were enlightened by God. Mary’s response was “I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me according to His Word”… Read more »

ADVENT PASTORAL LETTER FOR CHILDREN

Għeżież Tfal,

Qed ngħaddilkom din l-ittra fl-ewwel Ħadd tal-Avvent, iż-żmien li jwassalna għall-festa tal-Milied. Il-Milied huwa rakkont tal-ħajja ta’ żewġ persuni li nbidlu għall-aħjar biex iħallu lil Ġesù jidħol f’ħajjithom, dawn huma Marija u Ġużeppi. Anke aħna bħal Marija u Ġużeppi rridu inħallu li ssir bidla fina, biex ikun jista’ jidħol Ġesù fil-ħajja tagħna.

Kemm hi xi ħaġa kerha meta l-bniedem ma jkunx irid jinbidel għall-aħjar… Read more »

Luke 21, 34-36

‘Watch yourselves, or your hearts will be coarsened by debauchery and drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day will come upon you unexpectedly, like a trap. For it will come down on all those living on the face of the earth. Stay awake, praying at all times for the strength to survive all that is going to happen, and to hold your ground before the Son of man.’
