South Sudan – The new state

With Saturday’s establishment of South Sudan as the world’s newest nation, the Vatican spokesman had an exhortation for the international country: Let us not allow this nation to fail.

Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican press office, reflected on South Sudan in the most recent edition of Vatican Television’s “Octava Dies.”

He spoke of hopes that the nation might begin “a new history of peace.”

€171,152 IN AID OF THE M.S.S.P. MISSIONARY WORK

Ohloq Tbissima Marathon, the 60 hour live broadcasting marathon in aid of the missionary work carried out by the Missionary Society of St. Paul  (MSSP) both locally and in Peru, Pakistan and the Phiippines,  came to an end at midnight.

The 60 hours were packed. One could participate in mass and prayer, listen to discussions, enjoy the Kids Corner, Musichiere, Charades,  Ohloq Tbissima Song Festival  and a variety of song and dance with the best of local talent.  … Read more »
