Reflections for Lent – 26th February 2010

Kurjuż

Kemm hi kurjuża dil-ħaġa,

li int, Mulej,

ta’ kobor bla qies,

u ogħla minn kollox

u minn kulħadd,

tersaq lejna bħal ħuna

u tgħix bħalna

u tmut ukoll bħalna,

u timxi magħna fil-widien xotti ta’ ħajjitna

u fl-istat fqajjar tagħna l-bnedmin.

Kemm hi kurjuża dil-ħaġa,

li int, Mulej,

etern u mogħti qima,

teħodha kontra l-flus

li jaħkmu l-qlub

u r-reliġjonijiet;

li int, tfittex il-ħbieb

għaliex ma tiflaħx ma taqsamx imħabbtek ma’ l-oħrajn,

li int, tilbes il-fardal tal-qaddejja;

li int, ġarrabt u waqajt

taħt l-attakki tal-mibegħda,

li int tokrob fis-solitudni;

li int, indfint fl-art

bħal ma’ żerriegħa titgħatta bil-ħamrija,

u minnek ħareġ frott li ħadd ma stenna:

fik aħna nemmnu,

Mulej Alla tagħna

li ġġib ruħek magħna

b’mod daqshekk kurjuż… Read more »

ENGLAND: ASSISTED SUICIDE, TULLY (PRO LIFE), “IT RISKS BEING NO LONGER A CRIME NOW”

Euthanasia

The new guidelines published today by the Public Prosecutor Keir Starmer on the construction of the law on the right to life “undermine the ban on committing assisted suicide”: this is claimed by Paul Tully, Secretary General of the “Society for the protection of the unborn children”, one of England’s most important pro-life associations.

“As a matter of fact, the new policy makes assisted suicide no longer a crime in a wide range of circumstances”, Tully explained to SIR… Read more »

L-inqas li hu mistenni

L-inqas li hu mistenni mill-bniedem

mhux li kull persuna

tiġi ttrattata bir-rispett

u jkollha l-istess dritt għall-ħajja?

L-inqas li hu mistenni mill-bniedem

mhux li kull persuna

tkun ħielsa

u kapaċi toħloq

mingħajr ma tkun maħkuma

mill-flus, mir-reliġjonijiet jew mill-istati?

L-inqas li hu mistenni mill-bniedem

mhux li l-art nibżgħu għaliha

bħala ħaġa sagra,

inħarsuha u nsebbħuha

biex tibqa’ l-ambjent

li nistagħġbu bih,

imħejji minn Alla

għal dawk kollha

li jgħixu fih? … Read more »

Ġudizzju

Il-jum tal-ġudizzju –

u l-bnedmin jinsabu miġbura.

Huma jistqarru quddiem il-Mulej

li qiegħed fuq it-tron tiegħu:

“M’aħniex denji

li nidħlu fil-Preżenza tiegħek.

Ma tajnikx qima!

Ma tajniex ġieh

lill-Isem qaddis tiegħek!

Il-festi tiegħek ma ċċelebrajniehomx

Vanġelu

Bil-qawwa tal-fidi

se nitkellmu fuq il-maħfra tiegħek,

imma fl-istess ħin

u kif inhu xieraq,

sabiex ma nagħmluhiex ta’ mħallef,

bl-ikbar imħabba nuru ħniena

ma’ kull persuna mħawda u mfarrka

jew li tilfet it-triq minħabba l-ħażen.

Mingħajr ma nistennew minnha

l-inteġrità

jew id-dinjità,

u fuq kollox mingħajr ġudizzju,

noffrulha l-mogħdrija

u l-faraġ tagħna… Read more »
