Wednesday 11th January 2012 – The WYD Song Contest is officially open. Local bands can participate by entering an original composition on the theme: “Rejoice in the Lord, always” (Phil 4,4).

The WYD Song Contest is an opportunity for christian bands to interact with the Word of God. Every year, the Pope proposes a scriptural verse for young people to reflect upon and then celebrate on Palm Sunday, the World Youth Day. Christian musicians are invited to let the theme inspire them to write songs that express its deeper meanings.

This is the sixth edition of the WYD Song Contest, which has seen the participation of more than 20 christian bands collectively over the past editions. Deadline for entries is on February 17th and the contest itself will be held on March 25th.

The WYD Song Contest is co-ordinated by the commission for young people within the Church (KDŻ). For the full details send a message to [email protected].
