“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4). This is the verse from the Bible that Pope Benedict XVI has chosen for youths to reflect upon during this year; it is also the theme chosen for this year’s local World Youth Day Concert. This is a concert with a difference, a feast of live music for youths and by youths, a celebration of joy, faith and music.
The concert involves a number of local bands which were given the opportunity to express their talent in an original Christian themed song. The winning song will be titled World Youth Day Song of the year. This concert is being organised in preparation for World Youth Day 2013, which will be celebrated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This concert will be held on the 21st of April, at the Attard Parish Centre auditorium, by the Diocesan Youth Commission in collaboration with Attard’s youth group ‘YouthReach’, who are hosting this concert for the first time.
The entrance fee is of €2. Tickets may be bought from KDZ offices in St. Venera or by phone on 9999 9761 or 2148 4506. Bookings may be also made online from YouthReach’s website www.youthreachmalta.org. Tickets will be also available at the door.
