The Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE) is delighted to invite you to the online conference “Religious Heritage: an overlooked driver for a more sustainable and inclusive society”, to be held on Thursday, 11 April 2024, from 11:00 to 12:30 (CET).
The event is organised in the context of the New European Bauhaus Festival 2024 and will showcase a series of innovative projects to make religious heritage sites more sustainable and inclusive by fostering adaptation to climate change challenges, becoming more environmentally-friendly and connecting local communities to these sites to secure their future.
The conference will feature a keynote presentation by Anne Grady, Seconded Cultural Heritage National Expert from the National Museum of Ireland to the CULT Committee of the European Parliament.
The event will also include the presentation of best practices by Alex McCallion, Director of Works and Precinct at York Minster, Tobias Funke, Pastor at Dresden Youth Church, and Roel De Ridder, Coordinator of the Platform for the Future of Parish Churches.
Participants will be able to interects with panelists and ask questions.
The event is organised by COMECE, the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD) and the Future of Religious Heritage (FRH).
