The final talk for this year in the series Żwieġ b’Saħħtu will be held on 23rd April 2013 at Sala San Pawl, Catholic Institute, Floriana at 7pm.  The guest speaker will be Msgr Anton Gouder who will explain how:

“The family is similar to a cabbage!”

In order to flourish, the family requires several needs; it has a right to stable employment, a suitable home, health-care, adequate rest and recreation.

Together with these factors, however, Christian marriage is characterised by one other aspect: it is, above all, a sacrament.  This means that marriage is a special gift which Jesus bestows upon the spouses so that as a married couple, they will recieve God’s help in their daily life.

The Christian family that is bound by the sacrament of marriage recieves God’s help each and every moment of the day and all aspects of family life are blessed by God.  The Christian family’s vision and outlook on life is different.  It gives priority to that which is everlasting, rather than simply to that which is transitory.  It does not put emphasis upon those things which are to its own advantage, bur rather it focuses upon that which is just. This means that through the sacrament of marriage, all the members of the family live out their God-given call and family life becomes a journey which leads them to unity with the God they believe in.

The general public is invited to attend.
