Over the weekend, thirteen SDC Candidates attended a retreat at the Dar il-Ħanin Samaritan Conference Centre. Led by Fr. Brendan Gatt, the retreat centred on the theme “Do not say, ‘I am too young’” (Jer 1:7). The participants engaged in reflections on God’s call and our response to it, exploring faith, commitment, and the mission God entrusts to each of us. The retreat provided time for both personal and communal prayer and reflection. Such experiences help young people deepen their relationship with God within a community striving to follow Jesus in the SDC.
On October 25, 2024, a meeting was held in the Auditorium at Blata l-Bajda for those interested in the spirituality of St. George Preca. During the event, SDC member Joe Borg reflected on St. George Preca’s guidance for Christians to remain faithful and obedient to the Pope, the visible head of the Catholic Church. Borg reminded attendees of Preca’s reiteration that this bond assures us of living a good and holy life, as the Catholic Church, founded by Jesus, is the bearer of truth.
