In his final official visit to Dar tal-Providenza, President of Malta, George Vella, expressed his heartfelt satisfaction with the care provided to the residents of the facility.
Accompanied by Miriam Vella, the President attended a mass at the chapel led by Fr. Martin Micallef and Mgr. Charles Cordina, Episcopal Vicar for Diaconia. Vella’s term as president ends in April.
Following the religious ceremony, Vella engaged with residents and support workers, sharing moments of conversation.
The visit encompassed various areas of the facility, including the therapeutic pool, San Isidor Agricultural Centre, gym, and ongoing renovation work at one of the flats in Villa Papa Giovanni.
The emotional significance of the visit was evident in Vella’s words, as he conveyed his pleasure in witnessing the dedicated attention given to the residents. He remarked, “I am always pleased to visit this residence, and it is emotional to see the attention given to residents living here.”
The visit concluded with a dinner attended by the administration and residents’ representatives, during which Vella expressed gratitude for the warm reception. In response, he thanked the Director and all employees for their unwavering dedication and service at Dar tal-Providenza.
Dar tal-Providenza serves as a residential care provider for individuals with disabilities and their family members in Malta. The administration extended their appreciation to Vella for his continuous support throughout his tenure.
