The Church in Malta invites Catholics to the Diocesan Celebration of the Pentecost Vigil, Saturday 11th June, 2011, in front of the Safi parish Church. This year, the theme is ‘The disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit. They began to spread the Good News wherever they went. This way the Word of God continued to spread throughout the land” (Acts of the Apostles).
The celebration, presided by Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. starts at 7.30 p.m. with vespers which will be followed by the celebration of Mass at 8.00 p.m.
During Pentecost, the Church commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles. This event was the beginning of the life of the Church, with the disciples of Christ introducing the experience of spreading the Good News throughout the World.
