On Sunday 20th March 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. began his Pastoral Visit to the parish of St George Preca in Swatar. The Archbishop was greeted by the Parish Priest, Fr Gordon Refalo, and a short symbolic ceremony was held. The Archbishop was given a warm welcome. Those present prayed that the Pastoral Visit may render much fruit. Archbishop Cremona explained the scope of such a visit. He said that he is visiting Swatar as a shepherd who loves his sheep, in order to urge all Christians and also to seek those who have left the fold so that they may be encouraged to return. After the ceremony, the Archbishop celebrated Mass, together with the clergy who serve at the Parish. Among those present were the Swatar Administrative Committee, lay pastoral workers and a large number of parishoners. When Mass was ended, those present had the opportunity to meet personally the Archbishop. A meeting was also held between the Archbishop and the Administrative Committee.
