‘No One Gets Left Behind‘ is a two-part seminar series focused on how the Church can continue to foster inclusivity in its pastoral care for neurodivergent children, adolescents, and young people. The seminar was primarily aimed at catechists and young leaders serving in parishes.
Mrs. Giselle Pisani introduced the seminar with an introduction about what it means to be neurodivergent. As the mother of two neurodivergent young people, she shared her personal insights and experiences of being part of a parish community that actively strives to be inclusive of individuals with neurodivergent abilities.
In the second half of the seminar, participants were divided into two groups. The first group was led by Mrs. Ana Callaby Floridia, who offered insights into working with children in a catechesis setting. Meanwhile, the second group, led by Ms. Nicole Tabone, explored ways of engaging and supporting adolescents and young people.
The second seminar will take place on 17th May 2025, between 9am and 12pm. More details will be out closer to the date.
These seminars were organised by the Malta Catholic Youth Network and Lifelong Catechesis, in collaboration with the Pastoral Formation Institute.
