L-Arċisqof Pawlu Cremona O.P. ħatar lil Dun Joseph Grech bħala arċipriet tal-parroċċa tas-Siġġiewi.
Dun Joseph Grech twieled fil-Pieta’ fis-26 ta’ April 1970. Huwa rċieva l-edukazzjoni tiegħu fl-iskola Primarja tal-Mosta, il-Kulleġġ ta’ San Alwiġi, Birkirkara, u l-iskola Ġan Franġisk Abela, l-Imsida. Kompla l-istudji terzjarji tiegħu fil-Fakultà tal-Arti u fil-Fakultà tat-Teoloġija (Filosofija u Teoloġija) fl-Università ta’ Malta.
Dun Joseph ġie ordnat saċerdot fid-29 ta’ Ġunju, 1997. L-ewwel ħidma pastorali tiegħu kienet bħala viċi fil-parroċċa ta’ Bormla. Ħames snin wara nħatar arċipriet tal-parroċċa tal-Isla fejn ilu jservi għal dawn l-aħħar għaxar snin.
Il-parroċċa tas-Siġġiewi tiġbor fiha madwar 7,700 persuna f’2,500 familja.
Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. has appointed Fr Joseph Grech as the new archpriest of Siggiewi.
Fr Joseph Grech was born in Tal-Pietá on 26th April, 1970. He received his education at Mosta Primary School, St Aloysius College, Birkirkara and Gan Frangisk Abela School in Msida. He continued his tertiary education in the Faculty of Art and later in the Faculty of Theology (Philosophy and Theology) at the University of Malta.
Fr Joseph was ordained priest on 29th June, 1997. He started his pastoral work as vice parish priest of Cospicua. Five years later he was appointed archpriest of Senglea parish where he has been serving for the last ten years.
The number of parishioners in Siggiewi is around 7,700 gathered in 2,500 families.
