Tomorrow, Saturday 15 June 2024, at 4:30pm (Malta time), there will be Mass with the episcopal ordination of Fr Henry Joseph Balzan, who Pope Francis appointed as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of La Serena, in Chile. Mass will take place at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Mercy in La Serena.
Mass will be concelebrated by Auxiliary Bishop of Malta Joseph Galea-Curmi; Fr Gordon Refalo, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Parish in Gżira; Fr Paul Buttigieg, who spent several years as a missionary in Chile; and Fr Mark Mallia Pawley, a Maltese priest who is currently working in the Diocese of Copiapó in Chile.
