Archbishop Charles celebrated Mass on the feast of Christ the Redeemer in Senglea on Sunday afternoon. Mass was followed by a procession around the streets of Senglea during which prayers were recited for the country, the Church, and for vocations.

This was the first time the procession behind the statue of Christ the Redeemer was held in Senglea since 2019.

Earlier this week, the Archpriest of Senglea, Rev. Robin Camilleri said that during the three years of the global pandemic, visits and devotion for Christ the Redeemer remained constant. He said there were moments when the Senglea church was reluctant to let people approach the statue due to the pandemic but this did not stop people from visiting the church, with people at times standing in prayer behind the main door.
