• The Society of Christian Doctrine (M.U.S.E.U.M.) invites the public for a lecture by Dr. Michael Downey. The Theme of the lecture is ‘Hope Begins Where Hope Begins’.

    Dr. Michael Downey has served as professor of theology and spirituality at universities and seminaries in North America and abroad.  The author or editor of more than 20 books,  his abiding theological concern for those who are wounded and marginalized has brought him to serve the church most in need through lectures, conferences and retreats in impoverished countries throughout the world. Recipient of three honorary doctorates, he was awarded the Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice by Pope John Paul II.   He is now Director of Theological and Spiritual Formation at Mater Dolorosa Retreat Center in Sierra Madre, California.
