Dar tal-Providenza has raised over €1.4 million in its annual telethon held on New Year’s Day. At the end of the televised fundraiser, Fr Martin Micallef, the director of Dar tal-Providenza, thanked the Maltese people for their generosity and solidarity. He said the €1,409,085 collected on New Year’s Day will help the residence continue to provide the best services to the 115 people with disabilities living in their homes in Siġġiewi and in the community.
“May this feast of generosity at the beginning of the year, augur a year of respect for every person, and a commitment to helpl whoever is in need,” Fr Micallef added.
On Saturday, Archbishop Charles Scicluna celebrated mass at Dar tal-Providenza Chapel in Siġġiewi, ahead of the Feast of Generosity, ‘Festa Ġenerożità’ which raises money to continue providing care and support to Dar tal-Providenza’s residents.
On Friday, a 30-hour fundraising radio marathon came to an end. The event ahead of the annual telethon raised a total sum of €22,603.

Donations can also be made directly to Dar tal-Providenza’s bank accounts at APS Bank, BOV, HSBC, Lombark Bank, BNF Bank, or through PayPal.
Additionally, donations can be sent by cheque to Dar tal-Providenza, Lapsi Street, Siġġiewi SGW2822. According to a directive by the Central Bank of Malta, cheques of €20 or less cannot be issued and will not be cashed by banks.
