“L-Internet fil-ġungla u stejjer oħra” (Internet in the jungle and other stories) is the name of a new publication by the Missions Office. Featuring original illustrations by the talented artist Monique Mallia, the stories in the book all have a missionary theme or a positive message. Anyone who purchases a copy of this colourful publication will be helping the Missions Office raise funds towards children’s projects sponsored by the Pontifical Society of Missionary Childhood.
Amongst other countries receiving help from Malta and Gozo, are Bolivia, India, the Philippines, Zambia and Mali. Projects include the construction of schools and halls to accommodate and teach children, the provision of clean water, food and medicines, help for orphanages and assistance to spread the message of the Gospel to the most remote villages in the world. In Malta, Missionary Childhood is also referred to as ‘Santa Infanzja’.
The Missions Office would like to thank the principal of St. Benedict College and the head of Birżebbuga Primary School for their cooperation to launch the book.
