ARCHBISHOP’S MEETING WITH DOCTORS

On Sunday 28th February, 2010, Archbishop Paul Cremona OP presided over a meeting for doctors and celebrated Mass. This event was organized by the Sacretariat for the Laity, at the Seminary in tal-Virtu’. During the meeting, time was devoted towards a discussion on the medical profession and on how the Catholic faith can be of guidance in everyday choices.

ARCHBISHOP TAKES PART IN FACULTY DAY CELEBRATIONS

On Saturday 27th February, 2010, Archbishop Paul Cremona OP celebrated Mass at Attard  Parish on the occassion of ‘Faculty Day’. The occassion was organized by the Faculty of Theology. POPE URGES END TO MOSUL’S CHRISTIAN KILLINGS

Benedict XVI is calling on the Iraqi government to do all they can to stop the recent killing spree of Christians in the northern city of Mosul.

Before praying the midday Angelus with those gathered in St. Peter’s Square, the Pope called the recent killings of Christians as “tragic news,” and that it filled him with “deep sadness.”

PRESS BRIEFING ON POPE’S VISIT AS ARRIVAL DATE DRAWS CLOSER

On Tuesday, 23rd February, 2010, the Interdiocesan Organising Committee and the National Organising Committee of the Pope’s visit to Malta organised a Press Briefing for Editors of local news agencies. During this well attended business breakfast, news editors were free to ask questions and mention their suggestions on the media arrangements for the Pope’s visit to Malta. The information, updated to 31 December 2008, comes from the Central Statistica Office of the Church.
