News from the Church in Malta
The Malta Ecumenical Council together with the Ecumenical Commission of the Archdiocese of Malta is organising an Ecumenical Service on the occassion of the Feast of Pentecost.
Rev. Doug McRoberts will preside over the service, which will take place on Thursday, 27th May, 2010, between 6.00 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. at Saint Austin Church, Bakery Street, Valletta.

Lately, several people have been questioning whether couples who are unmarried and who cohabit are able to receive Holy Communion.
We wish to affirm that everybody – these couples included – is welcome in the Church, who shall continue to offer all the spiritual support that is necessary. All the activities in relation to the Pope’s visit came to a close with a thanksgiving mass which was celebrated at Saint Sebastian’s Crypt, Qormi. Many volunteers were present to see the closing of this memorable experience. Catholic.net logo
A new online Catholic Bible search engine, which enables people to find specific Scripture passages using keywords, was launched last week. The program was officially released to the public on May 13 by Catholic.net. The press release noted that this is the first complete Catholic Bible made available for keyword search.
It added that an English and Spanish Bible, both translations approved by the Vatican, are being offered for searching through the program… Read more »
The Church in Malta extends its invitation to all Christians to come together for a diocesan celebration, on the eve of Pentecost, next Saturday, 22nd May, 2010, in the square opposite the Gharghur Parish Church. This year the celebration is closely related to the Year dedicated to the Priesthood, which was announced by Pope Benedict XVI last year.
