Archbishop Charles Scicluna invites Christians to participate in the Holy Week functions during which the Catholic Church commemorates the passion, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. During these holy days, the Archbishop will preside over the celebrations at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta. The President of Malta, George Vella, met with Pope Francis on Thursday in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace.
Their encounter lasted just over an hour, with the Pope and the President exchanging gifts.
Pope Francis gave President Vella a bronze sculpture entitled “Intergenerational Dialogue,” as well as a book of his papal magisterium.
