INSTITUTE OFFERS WEBINARS FOR MARRIED COUPLES

This month, couples are being offered a chance to strengthen their marriages from within their own homes in a series that combines John Paul II’s teachings with psychology’s clinical experience.

The Institute for Marital Healing, directed by Catholic psychiatrist Richard Fitzgibbons, will begin its first series of free webinars on March 27 with a conference on the theme, “The Angry Spouse.”  Fitzgibbons, who is also a consultant for the Holy See’s Congregation for Clergy, explained to ZENIT that this series allows couples to participate anonymously from their own homes, with opportunities to email comments and questions… Read more »

100 TRADITIONALIST ANGLICAN PARISHES SEEK TO JOIN CATHOLIC CHURCH

About 100 traditionalist Anglican parishes in the United States have decided to join the Catholic Church as a group. Meeting in Orlando, the House of Bishops of the Anglican Church in America voted to seek entry into the Catholic Church under the guidelines established in Pope Benedict XVI’s apostolic constitution “Anglicanorum Coetibus” (“Groups of Anglicans”), said a March 3 statement.

IRISH DIOCESE ASKS PARISHES TO HELP COVER COSTS OF ABUSE SETTLEMENTS

The Diocese of Ferns is asking its parishes for additional funds to help cover the cost of legal settlements stemming from cases of clerical child abuse. CHURCHES SEEK ACCORD IN EASTERN EUROPE

Representatives from the Russian Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church in Poland met last week to discuss steps toward reconciliation between the two countries.

A communiqué from the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations reported that their visit to Warsaw on Thursday and Friday aimed to “discuss the Churches’ possible assistance in building good-neighborly relations between the peoples of Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.”
