CARDINAL OUELLET WARNS AGAINST BIBLE CRISIS

The relativization of the Bible, which denies the value of Word of God, constitutes a genuine crisis that is both external and internal to the Church, says Cardinal Marc Ouellet. The prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, who served as relator of the 2008 Synod of Bishops on the Word of God, stated this Monday in the opening address of a congress on “Sacred Scripture in the Church.”

POPE URGES HEALTH WORKERS TO PROMOTE LIFE

Benedict XVI is encouraging those who work in health care to build a culture of life based on ethical values. The Pope stated this Sunday in an address before praying the midday Angelus. He referred to the upcoming World Day of the Sick, which will be celebrated on Friday, the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. MARRIAGEWEEK: 7th – 13th FEBRUARY

On Friday 4th February 2011, a Press Conference was held, during which the programme of activities for Marriage Week (7th – 13th February) was announced.

The Vatican will host international scientists at a conference on AIDS in late May, an encounter church officials hope will help clarify Pope Benedict XVI’s recent comments on condom use in AIDS prevention, a Vatican official said. ARCHBISHOP MEETS I.T.U. STAFF OF MATER DEI HOSPITAL
