St. Peter’s Basilica at 10.30 a.m. Saturday morning, Benedict XVI celebrated the fourth ordinary public consistory of his pontificate, during which he created twenty-two new cardinals.

Day of prayer and reflection before the Concistory
Friday morning, in preparation for Saturday’s consistory, the members of the College of Cardinals and the new cardinals-elect, including Mons Prospero Grech, met in the Vatican’s New Synod Hall for a day of reflection and prayer, presided by the Holy Father. Benedict XVI had called the day at the beginning of this month.

Symposium
The second symposium of European and African Bishops was held at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, in anticipation of the forthcoming synod on the new evangelization, scheduled for October.
The symposium theme is “Evangelization Today: Communion and Pastoral Collaboration between Africa and Europe.” It is promoted by the Council of European Bishops’ Conferences (CCEE) and the Symposium of the Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM)… Read more »
On Thursday 16th February 2012, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. participated in a Forum about family-work balance, organised by ProgettImpenn at the Hotel Phoenicia.

The Message of Pope Benedict for the 49th World Day of Prayer for Vocations was released on Monday. The theme this year is Vocations, the Gift of the Love of God.
