Adult stem cell research
An international conference entitled “Adult Stem Cells: Science and the Future of Man and Culture” is due to being tomorrow in the Vatican, lasting until 11 November. Fr Martin Cilia, on behalf of the MSSP Oratory, Birkirkara, wishes to invite all those who are interested for an Advent retreat on Sunday 27th November from 9am to 1pm. This activity is one of the initiatives which resumed in October and will go on until June 2012. The Cana Movement held the annual Assembly for those couples who lead the various marriage preparation courses throughout parishes in Malta. This was held at the Archbishop’s Seminary, Tal-Virtu’ on Saturday 5th November 2011.

Friday 14th October 2011 marked yet another important occasion to make the couple Henry and Inez Casolani better known. The meeting was held at Teresa Spinelli Auditorium, St. Monica School, B’Kara. On Monday 31st October 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. visited the Catechetical Centre at the Dominican Sisters in Rabat as a continuation of his pastoral visit. He later visited the boys’ section of the M.U.S.E.U.M. in Rabat. Finally, the Archbishop met the members of the Catechetical Commission of Rabat parish.

On Sunday 30th October, 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. celebrated Mass at St Mark’s Church Rabat as part of his pastoral visit and afterwards met with the people. Later he met the Agostinian Fathers and had lunch with them.

Printed Catholic News
A majority of Catholics still prefer to get their news about the Church from weekly print newspapers, according to a report published recently by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA), based at Georgetown University.
An estimated 14.8 million U.S. adult Catholics regularly read their diocesan newspapers and magazines in print. The results were drawn from a survey of 1,239 self-declared Catholics… Read more »
In the Vatican, the Holy Father received a group of prelates from the Episcopal Conference of Angola and Sao Tome, who have just completed their “ad limina” visit.
