CARDINAL BRAZ DE AVIZ TO VISIT MALTA

Cardinal Joao Braz de Aviz, Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life,  will arrive in Malta on Saturday 24th March, on the invitation of the Council of Religious Major Superiors to meet with Maltese and Gozitan religious priests and nuns. This encounter will take place on Monday, 26th March at 5pm at the Augustinian Sisters, Fleur-de-Lys.

Fr Peter Serracino Inglott ilbieraħ mar jiltaqa’ mal-Ħallieq fis-sema, wara żmien rikoverat fl-Isptar Mater Dei. Is-saċerdot filosofu, eks-Rettur tal-Università ta’ Malta u għal ħafna snin konsulent tal-Prim Ministru Dr Eddie Fenech Adami, miet fl-età ta’ 75 sena.

MARRIED COUPLE PREPARES POPE’S VIA CRUCIS

The texts for meditation during this year’s Way of the Cross, to be held at the Colosseum on Good Friday, have, by order of the Holy Father, been written by Danilo and Anna Maria Zanzucchi, a married couple and founders of the New Families Movement, which is part of the “Focolari” Movement.

POPE RINGS BELL SYMBOLIZING CALL FOR EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS

Pope Benedict XVI blessed and rang the official International Eucharistic Congress bell, which has been on tour across Ireland for nearly a year, in preparation for the world meeting in June.

11.00 a.m. The Archbishop meets the parish priest of Pembroke, Fr Rene Vella, in preparation for his pastoral visit in the parish.

4.30 p.m. The Archbishop meets individually with people who wish to talk to him about the parish, at the Pastoral Centre.

PRESENTATION OF PONTIFICAL YEARBOOK 2012

Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone S.D.B. and Archbishop Angelo Becciu, substitute for General Affairs, presented the Holy Father with the 2012 edition of the “Annuario Pontificio” or pontifical yearbook, and the “Annuarium Statisticum Ecclesiae”. Also present were the officials responsible for compiling and printing the volumes.
