DUBLIN EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS SETS HIGH GOALS FOR YOUTH

This summer’s international Eucharistic Congress in Dublin is aiming to attract youth with a program being described as “one of the most ambitious youth ministry programs ever presented in this country.”

Young people from across Ireland are being invited to celebrate their faith at the June International Eucharistic Congress 2012 (IEC2012). The program called “Go! ARCHBISHOP LIGHTS BENEDICTINE TORCH FOR PEACE

On Sunday 4th March 2012, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. lit the Benedictine Torch for Peace during a Eucharisitc Celebration at St John’s CoCathedral in Valletta. Archbishop Paul Cremona celebrated Mass together with Mgr Pietro Vittorelli, Archabbot of Montecassino Abbey, and Mgr Renato Boccardo, Archbishop of Spoleto, Norcia. The Mass was animated by the Benedictine Choir of Monte Cassino. ITALIAN DELEGATION ARRIVES IN MALTA FOR THE BENEDICTINE TORCH

HOLY SEE: RISING RESTRICTIONS ON RELIGION AFFECT MORE THAN 2 BILLION PEOPLE

The Holy See Delegation has addressed the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva on the subject of religious freedom. Archbishop Silvano M.Tomasi said in many countries “the gap is growing between widely accepted stated principles, and their daily application on the ground.” He pointed out “rising restrictions on religion affect more than 2.2 billion people.”
