ARCHBISHOP LAUDS MALTESE MUMS ON MOTHER’S DAY

ARCHBISHOP ARRIVES IN HONDURAS

Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P., who is presently on a pastoral visit to meet with Maltese missionaries in Central America, will today arrive in the city of Comayagua, Honduras, as the guest of Mons Robert Camilleri OFM, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Tegucigalpa.

Before visiting Honduras, the Archbishop was in San Francisco, USA, to meet with Maltese emigrants. During the past seven days, the Archbishop’s activities included the celebration of mass in the Parish Church of St Veronica, an activity for which children from a neighbouring Catholic school attended; two other masses were held in the parishes of St Elizabeth and St Paul Shipwrecked, whose parishoners include Maltese people who lived in San Francisco before they moved to nearby towns… Read more »

POPE: KEEP ALIVE MISSIONARY VOCATION OF ALL DISCIPLES OF CHRIST

Benedict XVI met with directors of the Pontifical Missionary Works, which oversees missionary cooperation among the Churches of the world and is currently celebrating the annual assembly of its governing council.

The Pope remembered in his address Father Massimo Cenci, under-secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of the Peoples, who passed away due to a heart attack. “May the Lord reward him for all the work he carried out on mission and at the service of the Holy See.”

L-Arċisqof Mons Pawlu Cremona OP għadu kemm waqqaf żewġ gruppi ta’ konsultazzjoni li għandhom jagħtuh suġġerimenti dwar b’liema mod se jiġu ntrodotti fl-Arċidjocesi ta’ Malta l-ministeri lajkali u d-djakni permanenti.

Kien f’Jannar li għadda, waqt il-programm ta’ Radju RTK ‘Il-Polz taċ-Ċittadin’ ippreżentat minn Tonio Bonello, li l-Arċisqof żvela li minn din is-sena kien se jibda l-proċess biex jitwaqqaf id-djakonat permanenti f’Malta: “Il-proċess se jibda billi grupp ta’ persuni li għandhom ċertu esperjenza se jagħmlu riflessjoni dwar din ir-realtà fil-Knisja, jagħtuni rapport, imbagħad minn dak ir-rapport nara ftit dak li naħseb li hu tajjeb u dak li mhux daqstant tajjeb.”

ARCHBISHOP MEETS MALTESE EMIGRANTS IN SAN FRANCISCO

During the first few days of his pastoral visit to San Francisco, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. met with Maltese emigrants at the ‘Maltese American Social Club’ as well as at the residence of the Consul General of Malta, Mr Louis Vella, where the Archbishop had the opportunity to personally meet the Maltese.
