Speaking from his summer residence at Castel Gandolfo, Pope Benedict XVI spoke about Sunday’s Gospel, which tells how Jesus, when He had returned to His hometown of Nazareth, was rejected by His own people. “This fact is understandable,” the Pope said, “because familiarity at the human level makes it difficult to go beyond that and to be open to the divine dimension.”

Haiti and Guatemala

On behalf of the Pope, the Undersecretary of the  Pontifical Council “Cor Unum” – the Holy See dicastery responsible for promoting and organizing the charitable works of the Pontiff by means of the many Catholic aid organizations active throughout the world – recently visited Guatemala and Haiti.

On Wednesday 15th June 2012,  the Archbishop  visited the Franciscan Sisters, Missionaries of Mary and together with the chaplain, he prayed in the nunnery’s chapel in front of the Holy Sacrament. Pope's visit in Lebanon

Benedict XVI is to make an apostolic trip to Lebanon from 14 to 16 September in order to sign the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation of the Special Assembly for the Middle East of the Synod of Bishops, which took place in the Vatican in October 2010.
