‘Oħloq Tbissima’ marathon underway

Għadha kif ġiet inawgurata l-għaxar edizzjoni l-Maratona Oħloq Tbissima, f’dar San Ġużepp, Santa Venera. Din hija maratona ta’ 60 siegħa ta’ xandir kontinwu li s-Soċjetà Missjunarja ta’ San Pawl qed torganizza biex titqajjem kuxjenza missjunarja filwaqt li jinġabru fondi b’ risq il-missjonijiet li l-istess Soċjetà għandha fil-Perù, fil-Filippini u fil-Pakistan.

Pope: “Love given to the suffering is a reflection of divine charity”

Pope Benedict XVI sent his blessings to the twenty-fifth Interreligious Gathering of Prayer for World Peace on Mount Hiei in Japan, which began on Friday. The Summit includes a symposium studying the response of religious leaders to natural disasters. The Holy Father said he hoped the discussion would lead to greater solidarity and mutual help, adding that according to the Christian perspective, the love given to those who suffer is a reflection of the divine charity of God who so loved the world that he sent his only Son Jesus Christ… Read more »

Third volume of Jesus of Nazareth completed

Pope Benedict XVI has finished the third volume of Jesus of Nazareth, dedicated to the stories of Jesus’ infancy. A statement from the Press Office of the Holy See explains that this third volume, which is the completion of the previous two, is at present being translated from the original German into several languages – including English.

August Intentions Focus on Evangelization and Prisoners

Benedict XVI will be praying this month for young people and their apostolic zeal in proclaiming Christ.

The Apostleship of Prayer announced the intentions chosen by the Pope for August.

His mission intention is “that young people, called to follow Christ, may be willing to proclaim and bear witness to the Gospel to the ends of the earth.”

And the Pontiff’s general intention focuses on prisoners: “that prisoners may be treated with justice and respect for their human dignity.” Read more »

The Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People has issued a Message for the 2012 World Tourism Day (September 27th). The theme this year is “Tourism and Sustainable Energy: Powering Sustainable Development”.
