On Thursday 9th August 2012, Cardinal Prospero Grech O.S.A. visited the Prime Minister, Dr Lawrence Gonzi, at Auberge de Castille. This meeting formed part of the Cardinal’s visit to Malta to celebrate the feast of St Lawrence in Vittoriosa, where he was born and brought up.

The Pastoral Formation Institute, Secretariat for Catecheses, Commission for Young People and the Faculty of Theology have jointly designed two formation courses for youth ministers. Grief at the attack on the Sikh community

The chairman of the U.S. bishops’ Committee on Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs expressed the bishops’ prayerful solidarity with the Sikh community in the United States following Sunday’s shooting at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin.

In a message for the end of Ramadan, the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue says that educating young people for peace is increasingly urgent. The message was released by the Vatican Tuesday.

Justice and peace, the statement noted, are inseparable from truth and freedom.
