  • I invite you to the live crib which the residents of Lija organize annually. From this place, I would like to reflect upon the grotto at Bethlehem, the stable which was the birthplace of the Son of God made man, Jesus of Nazareth.

    The stable brings to mind the fact that the family of Nazareth, upon its arrival in Bethlehem, did not find a room at an inn.  The Gospel tells us: “he came to that which was his own but his own did not receive him” (Jn 1:11)…

Pope: at Christmas Jesus knocks at the doors of your heart

  • Pope Francis on Sunday invited the faithful to listen carefully when God knocks at their door. “Too often – he said – Jesus passes by in our lives, he sends an angel and we are so caught up in our thoughts and concerns we do not even notice”. Speaking to the pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square for the Angelus Prayer, the Pope reflected on the liturgy of the last Sunday of Advent that tells of the  Annunciation of the Archangel Gabriel to Mary and on how she simply, and humbly – with an attitude of total faith in the Lord – said “yes”…
