We are all grateful for Maltese and Gozitan families. As a Church and also as a society, we are indebted towards families because they are our greatest resource. Even though our family life may not always be a bed of roses, we are convinced that there are more roses than thorns. The Church wishes to contribute so that all that is beautiful and that enriches our families may continue to flourish…

I invite you to the live crib which the residents of Lija organize annually. From this place, I would like to reflect upon the grotto at Bethlehem, the stable which was the birthplace of the Son of God made man, Jesus of Nazareth.

The stable brings to mind the fact that the family of Nazareth, upon its arrival in Bethlehem, did not find a room at an inn. The Gospel tells us: “he came to that which was his own but his own did not receive him” (Jn 1:11)…

On Friday, 19th December 2014, six seminarians were instituted in the Acolyte Ministry by Bishop Charles J. Scicluna, Apostolic Administrator sede vacante, during a mass celebrated at St Joseph Parish Church, Kalkara.

The six new Acolytes are Sergio Fenech and Mark Mallia Pawley from St Sebastian’s Parish, Ħal Qormi, Claude Mifsud from the Parish of the Assumption of Mary, Mosta, James Saydon from the Parish of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, Naxxar, Andrew Schembri from the of St George’s Parish, Ħal Qormi, and Gilbert Scicluna from St Joseph’s Parish, Kalkara…
