Message by H.L. Msgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, during the migrants inter-faith funeral service

  • On Thursday 23rd April 2015, an inter-religious funeral service was held for the 24 migrants who died at sea, and who were brought to Malta last Monday. Prayers were led by Mgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, and by Imam Mohammed El Sadi. State authorities and other dignitaries were present. Mgr Joe Galea Curmi, Vicar General, also attended. The funeral was held outside the  morgue at Mater Dei hospital.

Pope: our vocation is to care for the covenant of marriage

Pope: The Church of today is the Church of Martyrs

  • “Today the Church is the Church of martyrs”. And among these martyrs are “our brothers whose throats were cut on the beach of Libya; that young man burned alive by companions for being a Christian; those immigrants on the high seas thrown overboard for being Christians; those Ethiopians assassinated for being Christians”. Church Schools activity for 4th Form students
