Appointment of Vicar General

    • Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna has appointed Fr Joseph Galea-Curmi as Vicar General. He will succeed Mgr Scicluna who also served as Vicar General following his appointment as Auxiliary Bishop of Malta on 6th October 2012. Fr Joseph Galea-Curmi was born in Malta on 1st January 1964, and ordained a priest on 5th July 1991. He studied at the Faculty of Theology, University of Malta, and at the Pontifical Lateran University, Rome, where he obtained a doctorate in Theology (with specialization in Pastoral Theology)…

Pope calls on Christians to express their faith in action

  • Pope Francis says the lives of Christians must be coherent and express faith in action. Speaking to the crowds gathered in a rainy St. Peter’s Square for the Sunday Angelus, the Pope invited all believers to always bear in mind the message of the Gospel, the image of the Crucified Lord, and the need to be witnesses of faith. Pope Francis in Naples: Meeting with clergy and religious

  • Pope Francis spoke of the ‘terrorism of gossip’ as the biggest sign of the devils work in a meeting with priests, religious and seminarians at Naples Cathedral Saturday. Pope Francis condemns Tunisia attack

  • Pope Francis sent a telegram offering prayers for the victims of Wednesday’s terror attack in Tunis, in which at least 23 people were killed and more than 40 others wounded, many among them foreign tourists. In the telegram, signed by the Cardinal Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, and addressed to the Archbishop of Tunis, Ilario Antoniazzi, the Holy Father decries the attack as, “[An act] against peace and the sacredness of human life.” He goes on to assure the families of the victims, all those affected by the incident, and the whole Tunisian people, of his continued prayers…
