In-numru ta’ żwiġijiet fil-Knisja li ġew irreġistrati fl-Arċidjoċesi ta’ Malta fis-sena 2015 kien ta’ 1,458, żieda fuq in-numru ta’ żwiġijiet irreġistrati fl-2014.

Mit-total ta’ żwiġijiet rreġistrati fl-2015, 1,248 żwieġ kienu bejn Maltin. Kien hemm ukoll 71 żwieġ bejn Maltin u barranin. Dawn kienu mqassmin hekk: 44 żwieġ bejn Kattoliċi Maltin u Kattoliċi barranin; 22 żwieġ bejn Kattoliċi Maltin u Insara mhux Kattoliċi barranin; 5 żwiġijiet ta’ Maltin ma’ barranin li mhumiex Insara…

A large gathering of Christians participated in the Diocesan Ecumenical Service on Thursday 21st January 2016 at St Nicholas Church (tal-Erwieħ), Merchants Street, Valletta where Serbian Orthodox and other Orthodox Christians regularly assemble for the Divine Liturgy.

Archbishop Scicluna who was indisposed was represented by Fr Hector Scerri, President of the Diocesan Ecumenical Commission. Pope Francis on Sunday became the third pope to visit Rome’s synagogue in a sign of continuing Catholic-Jewish friendship.
