Pope Francis to visit Assisi for important Franciscan anniversary

  • The Franciscans and the Bishop of the Italian hill town of Assisi, Domenico Sorrentino announced on Monday that Pope Francis will visit the Umbrian village on Thursday August 4th.   • Pope Francis prayed for the victims of the terror attack in Dhaka, Bangladesh that occured in the night between Friday and Saturday, and for the victims of terror attacks in Baghdad that took place late in the day on Saturday.
