Vatican Secretary of State says Ukraine’s recent attack makes “peace seem further away”

Two and a half years after Russia invaded Ukraine, the Vatican continues its call for peace in the region. The Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, spoke about the recent Ukrainian attack in Russia, saying:

Archbishop Noël Treanor, Apostolic Nuncio to the EU, dies aged 73

Archbishop Noël Treanor, who was serving as Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union, has died in Brussels at age 73. The bishop emeritus of Down and Connor, Ireland, passed away on the morning of Sunday, 11 August, due to a heart attack.

Vatican reveals theme for 2025 World Day of Peace

Archbishop calls for compassion amid rising tensions over immigration

Archbishop Charles Scicluna has made a heartfelt appeal for empathy towards immigrants in Malta, urging citizens to remember their own history of emigration.
