Motorcyclists’ pilgrimage on the feast of ‘Santa Marija’

  • Għat-tieni sena konsekuttiva, il-parroċċi ta’ Ħad-Dingli u l-Imġarr organizzaw Pellegrinaġġ bil-Muturi fil-festa ta’ Santa Marija.  Dawn huma żewġ parroċċi dedikati lil Santa Marija li iżda jiċċelebraw il-festa titulari Ħadd fuq il-15 ta’ Awwissu.  Għalhekk ittieħdet l-inizjattiva li llum, is-solennita’ tat-tlugħ fis-sema tal-Madonna, tiġi organizzata din l-attivita’ li tgħaqqad flimkien sewwieqa ta’ muturi miż-żewġ lokalitajiet li jsuqu f’pellegrinaġġ wara x-xbieha ta’ Santa Marija.

  • The Church’s Safeguarding Commission has taken note of yesterday’s Court judgement regarding Fr Charles Fenech O.P. 

    In keeping with the recommendation of the Safeguarding Commission of January 2016, Fr Fenech remains restricted from occupying any pastoral role within the Archdiocese of Malta and the Diocese of Gozo.

Pope Francis decries attack on Nigerian churchgoers, violence in CAR

  • Pope Francis appealed on Wednesday for an end to “every form of hatred and violence”, especially those “perpetrated in places of worship, where the faithful gather to pray”.

    He was referring to an attack on Catholics attending Sunday Mass in southern Nigeria and to recent violence against Christians in the Central African Republic.

    At his General Audience, Pope Francis said he “remains deeply saddened by the massacre, which took place last Sunday in Nigeria inside a church, where innocent people were killed.”

Pope Francis sends condolences for Nigeria church attack

  • Pope Francis on Monday sent a message of condolences following an attack at a Church in southeastern Nigeria. At least 11 people were killed and 18 others were wounded when gunmen opened fire on worshippers who had gathered early on Sunday at St Philip’s Catholic church in Ozubulu near the city of Onitsha.
