His Holiness Pope Francis appointed Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna as Adjunct Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith of the Holy See. Whilst remaining the Archbishop of Malta, Mgr Scicluna will have a greater role in the Congregation which is responsible to promote and safeguard the doctrine on faith and morals in the Church.

At present, Archbishop Scicluna is a member of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and President of the Special College within the same Congregation, to hear recourses in certain canonical processes…

Singing elevates the soul, making it “more sensitive to the voice of the Spirit.”

Pope Francis described the musical art in this way, while speaking to 300-odd members of the “Alumni of Heaven” Choir Association on Saturday.

The Association is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its foundation by Fr. Giuseppe Arione SJ. The Alumni seek to evangelize through music and concerts, which they perform throughout Italy and Europe…

“Promise the Lord that you will never do this, and you will not permit it to be done in your school, in your school, in your neighborhood. Is that understood?”

It was not a casual message for the Pope. The bullying problem on social networks worries him to the point that the Vatican will create an International Observatory.

In April, he hopes to present the conclusions of a triple study that will measure how the children themselves perceive the phenomenon, how the governments face this problem and how he will establish prevention plans…

On the occasion of the World Day of Urban Planning, celebrated today 8th November, the Interdiocesan Environment Commission sent a letter to the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, to the European College Commissioners and to the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani. In the letter, the Environment Commission is proposing that member states of the European Union should be more attentive and listen to the people’s voice on projects that will have an impact on the community…
