Nhar il-Ħadd, 19 ta’ Frar 2018, l-Arċisqof Emeritu, Mons. Pawlu Cremona, mexxa ċ-ċelebrazzjoni tradizzjonali ta’ Ħadd in-Nies, b’pellegrinaġġ bl-istatwa devozzjonali tal-Madonna tal-Grazzja u Quddiesa fil-Parroċċa ta’ Ħaż-Żabbar.

It-tradizzjoni ta’ dan il-pellegrinaġġ penitenzjal tmur lura snin qabel l-Ordni ta’ San Ġwann ġie Malta fl-1530. Meta wara l-wasla tal-Ordni ta’ San Ġwann beda jiġi ċċelebrat il-Karnival, ħafna pellegrini kienu ħaduha drawwa jżuru s-Santwarju tal-Madonna f’Ras ir-Randan, bħala tpattija ta’ atti li jkunu saru fi żmien il-Karnival…

Red lights will represent the bloodshed due to religious persecution in an effort to raise awareness.
In an effort to draw attention to the plight of persecuted Christians around the world, Rome’s Colosseum will be bathed in red light on the evening February 24.

Il-pellegrinaġġ ser jibda fl-4:15 p.m. u ser jitmexxa mill-Arċisqof Emeritu Mons. Pawlu Cremona OP u wara li tidħol l-istatwa tal-MAdonna fis-Santwarju, ser tiġi ċċelebrata Quddiesa bil-parteċipazzjoni tal-kor Notre Dame.

Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna will leave Malta today on a mission entrusted to him by His Holiness Pope Francis. The Archbishop will visit New York and Chile for a number of private meetings. Mgr Scicluna will return to Malta on Sunday, 25th February 2018.

Pope Francis concelebrated Mass on Tuesday morning with the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, Youssef Absi.

Instead of delivering a homily, Pope Francis said a few words about the meaning of the day’s celebration, at which members of the Melkite Greek Synod participated.

“This Mass with our brother, Patriarch Youssef,” the Pope said, “confirms our Apostolic Communion: He is the father of a very ancient Church, and he comes to embrace Peter and to say ‘I am in communion with Peter.’” The Holy Father said this was the meaning of the Eucharistic celebration…
