Pope to attend World Youth Day 2019 in Panama

  • The Director of the Holy See Press Office, Greg Burke, confirmed on Monday that Pope Francis will participate in the upcoming World Youth Day 2019 in Panama.

    The Holy Father will arrive at the event a day after it begins and take part from the 23rd to the 27th of January.

Two teenagers on path to canonisation

  • Pope Francis has issued decrees advancing the Causes of four candidates, including two teenagers who heroically lived the Christian virtues.

    At a meeting with Cardinal Angelo Amato, prefect of the Congregation for Saints’ Causes, the Pope signed a decree recognising the heroic virtues of Alexia González-Barros, who offered her sufferings from a malignant tumour for the Church.

World famous choir to perform in Malta for charity

  • The world famous Claire College Choir of the University of Cambridge will perform in Malta on the 12th July 2018, in honour of the 600th anniversary of the Carmelite presence in Malta and to raise funds for the restoration of the 16th century Oratory of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Valletta.

Religious structures next step in Iraqi building process

  • Since 2014 international charity organization Aid to the Church in Need has spent some 40 million euros [$46.6 million] funding relief and reconstruction efforts in Iraq, with the majority of support going toward basic needs such as housing.
