Points of convergence between Christianity and Islam

  • A public lecture on the encounter between Islam and Christianity from the 7th to the 9th centuries is being held today at 6:30pm at the Archbishop’s Curia in Floriana.

Catholic priest slain by criminal gang in El Salvador

  • 38-year-old father Cecilio Perez was reportedly shot dead by a presumed gang member while he slept on Saturday night in his parish in El Salvador.

    Father Perez was the parish priest of San José la Majada, in Sosonate Diocese near the Guatemala border.

    His body, with three bullet wounds, was found in his room by a group of faithful who had agreed to meet him at 5 am for morning prayers…

  • L-Arċisqof Charles J. Scicluna jitlob fuq il-qabar ta’ 24 persuna li jinsabu midfuna fiċ-Ċimiterju tal-Addolorata wara li tilfu ħajjithom f’traġedja li seħħet fil-Baħar Mediterran fid-19 ta’ April 2015. Dakinhar mietu madwar 800 persuna fosthom tfal.
